Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trivia Devs (“Trivia Devs”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use triviadevs.devand related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Trivia Devs is a community platform for discovering and validating developer resources. The data controller for the purposes of this policy can be reached at uyiosazeeirvin@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account & profile. When you sign in with Google or GitHub we receive your name, email address, and profile image from that provider. For GitHub sign-ins we also receive your GitHub username and profile URL. You may add a bio, developer level, and specializations.
- Content you create. Resources you submit, reviews, comments, collections, community boards, threads, replies, votes, and flags.
- Usage data. Aggregate signals such as resource views and click-throughs, used to rank and improve content. Views may be de-duplicated using an anonymized daily fingerprint.
- Waitlist. If you join the pre-launch waitlist we store the email address you provide and your position on the list.
- Communications. Email preferences (e.g. weekly digest opt-in) and whether transactional emails were sent.
We do not collect passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Google and GitHub via OAuth.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account.
- Display your public profile, contributions, and reputation.
- Rank resources and personalize your feed based on your stated preferences.
- Send transactional and (if you opt in) digest emails.
- Detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and moderate content.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Google & GitHub — authentication (OAuth).
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Resend — transactional and digest email delivery.
- Web3Forms — routing waitlist notifications.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Trivia Devs and its users.
Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What is public
Your username, display name, avatar, bio, developer level, specializations, badges, reputation tier, and the resources, reviews, comments, and public collections you create are visible to others. Your saved library items and reading queue are private. GitHub links are shown only if you enable that setting.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your account and associated personal data (some content may be retained in anonymized form to preserve conversation integrity). You may also email us at uyiosazeeirvin@gmail.com to request deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact uyiosazeeirvin@gmail.com.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced in the app.
